Painter Serguei Kozlov is one of very few artists of lackmalerei who make real pieces of art. For many years he worked in the famous Fedoskino village that specializes on lackered miniatures for over 200 years. Kozlov's works are highly rated among collectors and specialists of this marvelous art. His name is mentioned in all major artistic encyclopedias, works are widely represented in the Fine Arts Museum in Moscow, Fedoskino museum, Lackmalerei Museum in Holland
, as well as in many private collections and state gift funds (for example M.Gorbachev presented Kozlov's painted panel to R.Reagan during their first meeting in the USA in December 1987).
Kozlov's masterpieces are all unique and of highest artistic value.
I've done my best to take photos from different angles in order to show better colors play on the nacre inlays (part of the drawing) under painting.
