Description:
The dirk is made of steel, with two blades, with one short fuller. 18-cm of etching, gilding and blueing. The fuller bears M.T. Kalashnikov's signature on the blued background. The heel bears the USSR arms.
The heel's underside contains segment denomination and the serial number «AK-47/D-01». The side edges bear inscriptions Averkin O.V., Zlatoust, 2004 (in Russian).
The hilt consists of the grip with two caps and pommel and of cross guard with cross bar.
The grip is wooden, tubby. The caps are octahedral. The pommel in the form of inverted barrel with concave bottoms is decorated with the plated Russian State Emblems and is fixed to the grip with a ball-shaped head. The cross guard is straight, with dilative ends, decorated with AK-47 silhouettes. The cross bar is shaped in pentagonal escutcheon, bears the «AK-47» inscription.
The sheath is metal, with two middle bands, is decorated with relief portrait featuring M.T. Kalashnikov inscription (in Russian), with plated five-point star, with rosaces-edged five-point stars, with bay leaves and plant ornament.
All the armature pieces are decorated with bay leaves and stylized plant ornament.
The pommel, cross bar and middle bands are decorated with diamonds.
