This program started in 2004, when “Praktica” artistic workshop signed exclusive for the arms industry agreement with legendary Kalashnikov Mikhail (and his foundation of the same name). The general intention is to immortalize famous AK / AKM super-brands under Kalashnikov name in the form of the exclusive commemorative collection of the best decorated cold arms of Russia.
The series includes five sections; each one will be dedicated to one of the basic Kalashnikov's arms types:
1. AK-47 sub-machine gun
2. AK-74 sub-machine gun
3. AKS-74-U sub-machine gun
4. RPK light machine gun
5. PK machine gun
Each section includes five groups:
1. Bronze – 49 pcs.
2. Silver – 37 pcs.
3. Gold – 25 pcs.
4. Platinum – 17 pcs.
5. Brilliant – 9 pcs.

Each dirk is provided with a certificate, and each certificate has the Kalashnikov's original autograph on it as well. All series works are to be finished in the end of 2008.
All dirks are made only on order. Manufacturing period for each item is already 2-4 months now. Prices / delivery conditions are available upon special requests of our devoted cold arms connoisseurs. Name of Mikhail Kalashnikov is one of few known in all corners of the world. This name has become famous because of enormous popularity of small (infantry) shooting arms created by genius of M. Kalashnikov. It is caused by simplicity and reliability of his arms constructions & designs, by faultlessness and unpretentiousness, and all that allows to use “kalash” guns in very extreme conditions. These arms have saved lives to millions of warriors. It's a common belief that Kalashnikov arms are perfect – not only functionally, but esthetically as well, because it's long ago observed that what works well looks beautiful.
M. Kalashnikov – president of the Union of Russian Armourers, chief designer of “Concern “Izhmash” Ltd”, etceteras – and artistic workshop “Praktica” are united by bygone friendship based on love for art and skills of arms. While meeting heads of states, dignitaries and celebrities, M. Kalashnikov frequently presents decorated articles of “Praktica”.
Born on November 11, 1919, Mikhail Kalashnikov still lives and works in Izhevsk city (Ural region, not far from Zlatoust), for many years keeps his post of Chief Designer of Shooting arms of Russia, has innumerable Russian & international ranks and honorary titles.
